ABOUT US
COMMUNITY CENTRE
The Camden Community Centre is one of the oldest community centres in the Adelaide metropolitan area. Our proud history began in 1975 when a local committee was formed to look at the best way to utilise the old Camden Primary School site at Carlisle St Camden Park for community use.
The property was gifted to the community by the State Government, enabling the establishment of an independent Community Centre.
It is incorporated as a not-for-profit organisation and is managed by a Board of Management elected by the membership. The Centre is supported by grants from State and Federal Governments and The City of West Torrens.
Our Op Shop, Men’s Woodwork Shed and other fund raising activities generates income for the centre.
Over 70 volunteers support our staff and are crucial to all the Centre’s activities.
