A Letter from the ManagerOn behalf of the Board, Members, staff, volunteers and Centre Users
I would like to personally invite you to become a member of the Camden Community Centre.
By becoming a Member of the Camden Community Centre you
will be assisting us to continue to provide the valuable work that we do for the Community
for an annual fee of $12.00.
Whilst many of you have had a long association with the
Centre you may not be aware
of the range of services that we now provide to support our local
community
and those most in need.
Below is a list of our current services that we offer.
- Camden Community Centre:

- Is one of the largest Community Centres based in the Western Region
- Is a not for profit organisation, proudly owned by the Community, for the Community and operating for nearly 30 years.
- Assists an average of 600-700 people per week who utilize our centre, including enquiries
- Provides approximately 125 two course hot meals per week from our famous kitchen
- Provides an Occasional Child Care Centre averaging approximately 27 children per day
- Employs 22 paid staff and approximately 70 volunteers
- Provides a Centre based program for clients living in their homes whom are frail aged
- Provides a Centre based program for clients living with a disability
- Provides a Centre based program for clients living in Supported Residential Facilities
- Piloting a new program for clients who are living with a Mental Health Disability
- Provides Computer Training
- Provides a second hand shop for clients wanting a bargain or on low income
- Provides hot meals to the community at a reasonable cost
- Provides a sewing and alteration service
- Provides learn to sew classes
- Provides a woodwork shed that makes wooden items that are sold to help raise funds
- Provides facilities and hall hire at reasonable rates
- Provides photocopying services to the community
- Provides an online Library service with the City of West Torrens Library
- Provides a variety of opportunities for volunteers to contribute to the community
- Provides a range of special interest groups that provide additional programs that the community can access.
- Provides an Art group for budding artists
- Provides a range of Home Made Produce made in our famous kitchen
- Provides a regular Disco for people living a disability
- Provides a monthly Saturday night Old Style and New Vogue Dance
- Provides Modern and New Vogue Dance Lessons
- As a member you will receive membership entitlements such as:
- Discounts available on services
- 4 Annual Membership Newsletters
- Invitation to the Annual General Meeting
